GULU. Kinyera Wilberforce, a 24 year old man ended up battling for his life at Gulu Regional referral hospital after mob in Laroo of Pece Division, a suburb in Gulu ganged him up for theft of a phone and alleged rape on a minor.
Report from the police spokesperson for Aswa River Region Mr. David Ongom Mudong states that Mr. Kinyera stole a phone belonging to Lillian Ayaa and attempted to rape her in her bid to intercept the culprit and reclaim her property.
Ayaa’s alarm eventually attracted the mob. Although police intervention saved Kinyera from the mob, he had already served his share of the mob’s price. According to Police, he is battling for his life after severe beat-up took toll on him.
