The South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has said it is monitoring the safety and well-being of South Sudanese nationals currently residing in the Republic of the Sudan very closely.
The Ministry also said it is in close contact with the Sudanese authorities to ensure their protection during this period.
This comes as a result of a pattern of killing targeting South Sudanese living in the country after the Sudanese Armed Forces reclaimed major cities in the Khartoum fight against the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
Many South Sudanese reportedly died after they were hacked to death by the Sudanese forces for allegedly supporting the RSF.
Determined to preserve the safety of South Sudanese in the Sudan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called on South Sudanese in the war ravaged country to stay calm.
In a letter seen by CBN, the Ministry urged close communication with its Embassy in Port Sudan.
“We urge all South Sudanese nationals in Sudan to remain calm and maintain close communication with our Embassy in Port Sudan by contacting our Chargé d’affaires ad interim, Mr. Peter Garchang Tab, at +249 966034768.” It reads.
