The Deputy Governor of Western Equatoria State, has expressed strong confidence in the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement SPLM, securing victory in the upcoming 2024 general elect
Speaking During his swearing-in ceremony in Juba, Hon. Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa emphasized that SPLM’s success is contingent on its members’ commitment, unity, and adherence to party values.
“I appreciate the trust placed in me at this crucial time as Deputy Governor. I am fully committed to reforms and serving the people of Western Equatoria by fostering peace, unity, and restoring the state’s dignity,” he remarked.
Hon. Badagbu called on party members to focus on collective action, empowering women and youth, and building a prosperous and modern Western Equatoria, both economically and socially.
He stressed that these efforts would ensure the resilience of the state under SPLM-IG leadership.
In her speech, Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, Speaker of the National Legislative Assembly, underscored the importance of newly appointed officials achieving the SPLM’s objectives and maintaining peace throughout the country.
She particularly urged the Women’s League Chairperson, whose responsibilities have been dormant since the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), to revitalize the league and contribute to the party’s broader goals.
“This is a critical mission, especially for the Women’s League Chairperson. The league has not been restructured since the CPA, and it is vital that we all work towards fulfilling the SPLM’s promises to ensure lasting peace and stability in South Sudan,” Hon. Nunu Kumba stated.
The speaker thanked President Salva Kiir for his leadership and urged party members to fulfil their duties effectively, especially at the state level.
She appealed to the Governor of Warrap State to address the ongoing community conflict in Abyei.
