The Catholic University of South Sudan, Yambio Campus Branch, has reassured students and the surrounding community of its commitment to maintaining integrity, particularly in the authenticity of academic documents.
This was emphasized by the Deputy Director of the branch during an event celebrating the swearing-in of the incoming and outgoing Guild Council members.
Mr. Stephen Ginyera highlighted that the university is closely affiliated with both the Catholic University of South Sudan in Juba and the Catholic University of East Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.
He reaffirmed that all certificates awarded to students are genuine and are signed by the Cardinal of the Catholic University of East Africa in Nairobi, a highly regarded institution.
“Our students graduate under the name of the Catholic University of East Africa, one of the top and most prestigious universities in Kenya. The certificates they receive are legitimate and signed by the Cardinal of the university. There is no room for doubt or mistrust regarding the authenticity of our qualifications,” Mr. Ginyera assured.
He further explained the process, saying, “Our role here is to compile the students’ results and send them to Juba, which then forwards them to Nairobi for final processing and certification.”
During the event, the newly elected Guild President of the Yambio Campus, Mr. Joseph Ndani Gbinzaramba expressed his gratitude to the university administration for enabling students to engage in leadership transitions. He noted that the university provides a valuable platform for students to exercise their leadership skills, much like other leading institutions.
“I am thankful to the administration for giving us the opportunity to exercise our rights and lead. I pledge to work with my cabinet and adhere to the core values of the university throughout the next 12 months,” said Gbinzaramba.
The Deputy Guild President, Mrs. Leilla Simon Suzan also spoke during the event, emphasizing the importance of student collaboration. She committed to advocating for more scholarships and supporting vulnerable female students.
“I will work closely with my fellow students and ensure we secure scholarships, especially for our vulnerable female students,” Leilla assured.
Outgoing Guild President, Mr. Paul Baptist expressed his appreciation to the university for nurturing student leadership. He emphasized that leadership roles have not only educated students academically but also prepared them to be valuable contributors to their communities.
“We are grateful for the opportunity. It’s not just about academic lessons; we are also being moulded into leaders who can give back to society,” Mr. Baptist remarked.
The ceremony took place at the Yambio Campus, St. John Catholic University of South Sudan, Western Equatoria State.
