Coronavirus: Security surround Palabek Refugee Camp, in a fight against COVID-19

Coronavirus Task Force team of Lamwo District, in Northern Uganda, has surrounded Palabek Refugee settlement which is housing about 50,000 refugees who fled deadly South Sudan war. There is heavy presence of security personnel in the neighbourhoods, too.

The task force is made up of majorly persons from various security organs. The Resident District Commissioner who is head of security in the area, James Nabinson Kidega, says such course of action is vital in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The heavy deployment is majorly to prevent the settlement residents from leaving – not during times of deadly COVID-19, according to James. He explains:
